In Sheikhupura district, a collision between two trains near Qilla Sattar Shah left at least 20 passengers injured, including women and children. The incident unfolded when a Mianwali-bound passenger train collided with a stationary freight train on the main railway line, according to police sources.
Following the accident, rescue teams swiftly arrived at the scene, transferring the injured individuals to a nearby hospital. Of those injured, five are reported to be in critical condition.
This incident follows a tragic event on August 6, when the Hazara Express, traveling from Karachi to Rawalpindi, derailed near Nawab Shah, resulting in the loss of 25 lives and injuries to over 100 passengers. Railway officials indicated that the derailment occurred near Saharai Railway Station, situated between Shahzadpur and Nawabshah, during the journey from Karachi. The derailment caused ten bogies to leave the tracks, resulting in chaos and injuries among the passengers on board.
