Pakistan Army’s senior leadership pledges to take decisive action against those obstructing economic growth

The Pakistan Army’s top leadership has pledged to take strong action against those obstructing the nation’s economic progress. This commitment was made following the conclusion of the 259th Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC), led by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi. Pakistan’s Armed Forces paid heartfelt tribute to the sacrifices of martyrs, including officers, personnel, and citizens who gave their lives for the country’s safety and security.

The nationwide commemoration of Defence and Martyrs Day on September 6 received widespread appreciation, with the Armed Forces expressing gratitude to the nation. The Army’s top officials reaffirmed their dedication to safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity from all forms of threats, both direct and indirect.

They condemned attempts by hostile forces to create divisions between state institutions and the public, emphasizing that such efforts would only lead to further humiliation for those behind them. During the CCC, the participants discussed the prevailing geo-strategic environment, national security challenges, and Pakistan’s evolving strategy in response to these threats.

General Asim and senior generals asserted that all militants, along with their supporters and enablers acting on behalf of hostile forces to destabilize Pakistan, would face the full force of the state. The press release also highlighted the importance of accelerating economic development in Newly Merged Districts (NMDs) and Border Districts of Balochistan to ensure sustainable peace and growth.

The Army Chief emphasized the need to maintain high standards of professionalism and motivation during operations and training, acknowledging commanders for their unwavering focus on soldier well-being and morale, which underpins the Army’s operational readiness.

CCC members reiterated their full support for ongoing efforts to boost socio-economic growth, including the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), and their commitment to assisting the government in curbing illegal activities that undermine economic stability, growth, and investor confidence.
